Relationships are tough. Finding a person who will love you in spite of all your flaws is fun, albeit terrifying, when you’re young, but as you get older, it becomes an impossible mission. One you don’t really want to take after your twenties. So even if your relationship isn’t what you dreamt it would be you hold on, and you believe it will eventually get better. That every couple has their rough patches; That this, too, shall pass.
But what do you do when it doesn’t pass? When year after year things get worse instead of better? What if they simply stay the same? What are you supposed to do when everything isn’t terrible, but it also isn’t what you dreamed? Do you keep holding on because you’re probably never going to get a better chance? Or do you let go and risk being alone forever?
